Band to bypass in december 2016.

I am looking for some advice from people that have had the band to bypass revision surgery or bypass patients. I had my Lapband removed on May 23 2016, and had to wait 6 months for my revision. Any advice you can give me...would be great .

I had bypass in 6/2013. I've lost about 120 lbs and kept it off for the last three years. Attitude helps a lot. My worst discomfort was the drainage tube. When it came out and then the first week or two when I changed position from vertical to horizontal and from horizontal to veritical. It wasn't fun, mind you, but in the long run, it was very worth it. It may have been an unfortunate placement of the tube or I tensed at the wrong time....I'm not sure. Talk to your surgeon before the operation. Best of luck to you!!

I had band surgery in 2006. I lost 80 pounds. And had nothing but problems and pain from it. They took out the saline but would not take the band out. I suffered from it. I gained back the 80 pounds and more. Four and a half months ago I had a Roux-en-y bypass. Best decision I have ever made. I was scared. It was a huge decision. But I am currently 84 pounds lighter and feel like I'm 20 again energy wise! And still improving every day.

I have had the band for 10 years. Why are you changing to the bypass? Did you gain any weight back since May? I haven't had mine checked for a while. I know I am at my fill capacity. I might have it checked if it slipped. Did yours slip? Good luck.

I am also in the process of a revision from lapband to rny. Mine had slipped multiple times over the last 2 years, with the end results being I have no pouch, its on my esophagas. Which has stretched.
