My name is Patty. I am a 48 year old deaf woman who just graduated with her Master's in Social Work. I am trying to pass the requirements for the surgery. I have pulmonary hypertension, diabetes II, and many other health problems. I feel alone in this, no one to talk to. I hope you can give me guidance here, especially in modifying my food. I am in a catch 22 here. In addition to picking the right food, I also have to limit my salt intake. I already have the small plate with size portion. That seems to help. My weakness is writing down my food diary. When I am ready to shoot questions, I will. I appreciate your help here. Peace!

Hi Patti,

My name is Rena. I am very new to this also, you are not alone. I just had the gastric bypass, four weeks ago. I had very little pain, but am having some problems with nausea. It is getting a bit better. I do not seem to tolerate the protein shakes very well. They make me nauseous. If you have any questions, I would be happy to help.
