My surgery is booked! Starting to get nervous about all the post op phases of introducing food. I am from Canada and my journey's path is a a little different than I am reading on these threads but I'm hoping for the group support that is available.
January 29th I've labeled on my calendar as "The Last Supper" even though my dietician said we shouldn't lol. On the 30th I start my 2 weeks of liquids which I've only been given one option - 5 bottles of Diabetic Boost per day for 14 days - this is where I notice the difference starts. I've tried them and I don't mind the taste, I only pray they keep me full enough to make it through. I'm good with this part, because I'm being told what to do EXACTLY. I'm worried about Stage 2 - purée foods - I'm not very creative in the kitchen and I'm not interested in starting to be.....do I settle for baby food

Hello,
I have surgery on Jan 17th. I can tell you the liquid diet is not the best time to be had, but you can make it... stay busy and it goes by quicker. As far as stage 2, you can mush anything with a blender. Baby food is a choice. Not the best tasting stuff but works... But scrambled eggs is a good choice, Low fat cottage cheese, pudding, refried beans. etc if you do a search on google it will give you some ideas, that won't make you have to get creative in the kitchen.. I'm sure you will do great with what ever you decide. All depends on your tastes.

The rules they give us are for the very basic of us who can't tolerate the change.
I have been able to slowly add foods I like so now I can eat small amounts of anything.

Good Luck Keith, let me know how it goes.

I am looking forward to eating a scrambled egg. I hope to be able to start soft foods on the 19th after my doctor appt. I have been making meal replacement shakes with different things. Today I used the vanilla bariatric advantage meal replacement powder, added some powdered peanut butter and sugar-free caramel syrup, water and ice. It was actually pretty good. I have added frozen bananas, as well. For dinner I am going to make one with mango in it. Anything to change it up some.

During the soft food stage, I was allowed canned tuna and canned chicken.

That will be he interesting past, the pureed food. I have been looking up recipes and getting some ideas, my doc has you continue the protein drinks along with puree, reducing the drinks some as you transition through the different phases. Like you I am at a loss about the puree. Have been looking at the baby veggies and what not.
