You can do this. I remember thinking it would never end. I'm five months post op. It will get better. All who have the surgery go thru the same thing. I tried to keep myself busy with projects. Congratulations and best wishes on your new life and journey

Just 10 more days to go, and you'll reach your goal! I didn't feel the hunger like most in my pre op liquid diet, but I was adding 30 grams of protein to most of my liquids and soups. I hope your getting enough in for energy! Best of luck on this journey your on, you can do this!

My hunger comes in spells, but I just seek out one of the items on my list and then I'm fine. I have found that for the past few days that I just need to keep busy.

You're right! I've found that keeping myself busy and involved in something does a lot of good.

Thank you ladies for taking out the time to respond to me. I am now on Day 6 of this liquid diet. I started last Wednesday!

How are you doing now? I found as time went on the hunger pangs went away. Maybe my stomach shrank. Who knows. It just got easier.

Hi Christine!

You are absolutely right. Things are much better now. The hunger is still comes but not as often. I've been keeping busy and doing things I wouldn't normally do. Like organizing and excessive cleaning. I've found that I need to push one of my protein drinks to late evening to remain full through out the night. I am now down 8 day/nights counting today.

How are you?

I’m glad it is going easier. I’m doing well. I had to give up protein shakes shortly after surgery. I couldn’t find one that didn’t make me sick. My doctor ok’d for me to just eat protein. I just found sugar free instant breakfast, so I have that for breakfast now with skim milk. Not quite as much protein as a shake, but better than nothing. What shakes do you drink?

How long ago was your surgery? Maybe your body is still try to heal.

Is the breakfast your having still a liquid?

I am having Premier Protein shakes they contain 30 grams of protein. I'm having two of those a day along with the other liquids that I am allowed. I've had the banana cream and strawberry cream.

My surgery was 10 months ago. I had trouble with the shakes from day one. We spent a fortune trying different ones. I used the Premier for a while and then they got to me. It’s just ridiculous. Yes, the Instant Breakfast is liquid. Powder mixed with milk. Total protein of 20g. Not as much as a protein shake, but better than eggs.

So what day is your surgery? Are you excited to get it over with? I remember being a nervous wreck.

My surgery is next week on October 12, 2017. I have to admit I've gotten nervous. The liquid diet is bothering me less and less. I guess it doesn't take long to form a habit.

That’s right. I forgot you had said it was Oct 12. If you hadn’t gotten nervous you’d be strange. ;) This is going to change your life. I had to do the liquid diet twice as my surgery was rescheduled at the last possible moment. The first time I did it I handled it a lot better and I was tested a lot more. Funny how that happens.

Wow!! So, you had gone through the liquid diet and then it was rescheduled. My goodness! Do you mind telling me how far you were into it? Was it a health reason?

can you tell me what is the liquid that you do use,and is it before surgery,I'm needing to lose 17 pounds and I'm stuck, and was wondering if I should try a liquid diet to lose the 17 pounds if it would work, can you help me out?please.

I'm probably too late responding, but I would suggest discussing this with your doctor. Your doctor has a better view of your health. Choosing the liquid diet SHOULD be fine as long as you get your PROTEIN in. I'm sorry it took so long for me to respond. I've been under the weather so to say.
