5 Years and frustrated!!

I’m 5 years post op and have had a tummy tuck, lipo and a hysterectomy and find it almost impossible to lose weight. I feel like I’m back to square one thinking about joining WW and it makes me angry with myself for not having been more successful. I lost about 100 pounds after surgery and tummy tuck but have gained about 20 back. I’m now at 197 lbs and it won’t budge (except upwards)! Suggestions?

I don't typically assume anything, but I will venture to guess your asking because you've already attempted to reset your belly by returning to consuming 90-120 grams of protein, 64+ oz of water, have restricted your carbs and are exercising frequently in an attempt to lose weight? The hysterectomy and the need for the hormones afterward can cause issues with weight gain and loss, so you may need to make sure those are balanced in your system. You might also try the bariatric friendly version of the Keto diet, I have some buds that are on it and it is working wonderfully for them. Hope something works in your favor soon!

Thank you for the response. I have been reading through your suggestion about the Keto lifestyle and at less than a 1%success rate long term, I’m wondering how this is sustainable and realistic?

When I read anything about that diet, it all comes across as the way people used to eat before McDonalds came along. :p When people used to cook and prepare meals more often than eating at a local restaurant. I think the success rate is low because it is just easier to hit a drive through when life is so busy and willpower is so low. :D The keto/paleo/weight watchers/jenny craig 'diets' of the world either become a way of life for those who want to be successful and keep the weight off or for most it is just a fad and they bounce off of it like they do with all diets and return to bad eating habits. I do know that it is sustainable if used correctly. I have a friend strictly Paleo and she's been eating that way now for 3 years and maintains a healthy lifestyle. I have another who has been on the Keto for nearly a year, she is also kept with it and been successful. Both embraced what they were doing and jumped into the deep end and haven't returned to bad eating habits. I think anything can be worth it when commitment and willpower enter the picture. I hope your able to find something that suits you as well!
