Thanks Cheyenne. I have thought about you often and applaud your ability to hang in there after surgery and continue to be a role model for others. It gets more difficult to do as we reach our goals and start our new lives. Hugs back to you!

    Checking in

I'm almost 2 yrs post op and did really well through surgery and met my weight goal about 8 months later. I knew that something was wrong because my protein levels were low, even though I was meeting all my daily intakes. I also started to show signs of problems with immune system- the ability...

Body wraps and other ways to improve skin elesticity?

I'm a BeautiControl Consultant, and hadn't even thought about trying their tight firm and fill products for the body (I was too busy working on the wrinkles on my face!) But it really works. No more cottage cheese thighs and my skin got generally tighter. I lost 110 pounds, so I'm not sure it...

Finally weight is under 200 lbs.!

I'm only 5 ft tall and the doc told me I should weigh 107, which is pretty ridiculous. I'd look anorexic at 107. The nurse told me I was on the border of overweight and obese, but I don't think that's right. At any rate, I don't care. I feel good even though I look every bit of my 64 years. No...

    belly fat!!!

Yeah, I thought if I could get both my belly buttons pierced I could get a job as an exotic dancer. In a freak show. Carnival.

    Exercise Anybody?

I do 30 min of cardio (treadmill or reclining bike) and 45 min on the weight machines, 3 times a week. I've been thinking about a personal trainer to help me work on upper body strength.

This summer I haven't been bit by a single mosquito. They don't like me anymore!

OK, you gotta help me with this pureed stage?!

I pretty much skipped over the pureed stage. I just couldn't put tuna fish into a blender. Luckily it was only 2 weeks long.

    belly fat!!!

Unfortunately, I lost fat everywhere but some belly fat remains. Because of the extra skin it's hard to tell what is skin and what is fat, but it looks really gross, especially because after colon surgery I look like I have 2 belly buttons, one on top of the other, about 3 inches apart. I'll...

New to site and Surgery Date is September 8, 2014

Before my surgery I would wake up in a sweat during the night and say, why am I doing this to myself? I'm gonna cancel in the morning. But each time I asked myself if I would really cancel after all the prep and planning, the answer was no. The bariatric bag is essential after surgery if you are...

    Surgery 2 weeks away

What Cheyenne said. It will be easier on you post-op if you can try to change your thinking before surgery about foods with no nutritional value. Since you will be eating much less, you really should put only things that add to your health and well-being into your mouth. A treat is OK once in...

Finally weight is under 200 lbs.!

Look at you! Looking good. Congratulations on your accomplishment! I absolutely love buying clothes that I never would have looked at before because they didn't 'hide' the bulges. My BMI is still on the borderline of obese, but I decided I like where I am and will not worry about it. I think...

    I'm Maya- another Newby here

It is true. Most of my favorite foods don't taste so good anymore, or I'm satisfied with 1 cookie instead of a handful. I don't keep any junk in my house, but going to parties and gatherings is still a challenge, so I'm glad that ice cream and sweets and sodas just don't taste good. I recently...

    2 week post op

Welcome to the forum! I remember in the first couple of weeks post-op wanting to challenge myself "I'm on liquids--I wonder what would happen if I ate a protein bar". Luckily I didn't do it (with support from my online friends). But I remember thinking that it was odd that I wanted to push my...

    Exercise Anybody?

Congratulations on your fantastic weight loss. I go to the gym and I don't get bored because I always listen to an audiobook. It seems to make the time go by fast.

    Eating out

l learned yesterday that Shoney's has a bariatric price of $4 for their buffet. I thought that was a good idea and wondered if other restaurants might be doing the same thing. Whenever I go to restaurants (not often), I order something grilled with vegetables and ask for a "to go" container...
