    Help for Gas!

Okay....I know we don't like admitting or talking about it, but let's be honest! After our surgeries we seem to be full of it! But I have seemed to run across a huge help and it comes in a small chewable good tasting tablet! Papaya Enzyme! I was at my local Great Earth Vitamin Store and I...

    No more protein shakes

You should be getting at least 60 grams or more of protein a day. It also depends on your activity level as well. You do need protein for the healing process and for your energy and over all well being. I am 6 months out and I had already cut back from 2 to 1 protein shakes a day. I have...

    WLS after a full thyroidectomy

I had a partial thyroidectomy years ago and had my gastric bypass in July 2012....i've not had any problems due to the thyroid lobectomy....you should pose this question to your physician though, and they should be aware of your past health issues before your surgery.

    sudefed??

I take it, but as always, you are best to ask you own physician as your surgery and progress is different than others...i've been taking it a while, and i'm about 6 months out. Good luck

    found a lump

LOL...that was funny! Congrats! I too found my hip bones! This past week, when I got dressed for work, for the first time in many years, I felt comfortable enough to tuck a shirt into my pants and wear a belt! I actually have a waist now! It is exciting and we who have had the surgeries have...

    Having doubts about my choice!

First off...this should be your mantra..."Scales are for fish!" ... stop getting on the scale! Every one looses differently and has different experiences even when having the same surgery. You've had the surgery...the weight will come off...you just need to do what you are supposed to do...

Rebecca...again...ask your Doctor...it should be in your paperwork and drilled in to you prior to the surgery. My Doctor recommended 100 mg's

5 Days Post Op: Have some questions.

Welcome Rebecca...how are you getting your protein intake now? Immediately after surgery and for 3 weeks I was on an only liquid diet, drinking 2 Isopure a day with 45 grams of protein each and i'd add 10 to 20 grams of protein powder to chicken broth. Your liquid and protein intake from here...

    Hair Loss??

You are correct...the lack of Protein intake and quick weight loss...both affect you...I've always had some hair loss because I suffer from a thyroid disorder as well...but I've started to take Biotin pills, which are great for hair, skin and nails too. I take 2 a day and it's made a big...

    Type II Diabetes Relief

Awesome responses...just remember...your body will take some time to adjust and if you are on pain meds this will also affect your blood sugar levels, so don't be alarmed...I was on insulin injections in the hospital, because I couldn't take my regular meds for diabetis, but I left the hospital...

    Lacking Protein

Maybe try different shakes? Sometimes our tastes change...I have been taking the Pure Protein Shakes since my surgery and have never gotten tired of them...I still take one a day...I really like the chocolate ones. They make them with 20 and 35 mgs of protein. I like their bars as well.

    Evening problems

It sounds like maybe you guys are eating too fast...eat slowly....and chew more....don't drink with food...take your time...it's hard sometimes...but the pressure/full feeling you feel is probably from that. It's worth taking your time. Hope this helps

    Low Calorie Diet..

I didn't have to be on a strict diet before surgery, but i've read here that some people were put on the liquid only diet, the same one as you will need to be on for a few weeks post surgery. An all liquid diet forever is not the way to go and not healthy. If you are even wondering about this...

    I am scared

The surgery is the easy part....its the dedication to a new lifestyle afterwards that can be scary! Just remember everything you read is just someones opinion or experience...you will have your own. I personally have had no pain whatsoever. I actually have to remind myself that I had surgery...
