I had the gastric sleeve procedure done in 2016. Lost 145 pounds the first year and have not lost or gained since then. However, I'm still 60 pounds overweight due to disliking to exercise (physical activity). I am now more focused on nutrition. This is a viable alternative that is slowly showing a downward effect on my weight and makes me feel very healthy. My Surgeon recommends I get the Bypass to lose more weight. I refuse because it will increase my chances to become anemic as food will bypass the small intestines.

I am 3 years post rny. I weighed 199 pre and at my lowest was 109...I am 4'11 also btw. I thought I was too slim then (Man wish I was there now) ...now I am 135 what do I do to get back on track? It is like I have lost the motivation, eat everything I shouldn't and sit on my rear! If somebody could help direct me please do. I know this is nothing new and people fall on bad times. Thanks

I’m almost a year out, lost 90 lbs and playing with the same 3 or 4 pounds. My weight fluctuates between 113-117. I love the way I look and feel and I am terrified of gaining the weight back!
I am no expert but here’s what I will do if I start gaining:
  1. Write down everything I eat and drink for a few days to get a better idea of where the calories are coming from. Measure everything.
  2. Go back to basics, eat more protein, cut out the carbs.
  3. Add to your exercise, walk for a little longer, lift weights an additional day.
  4. Focus on preparing delicious food, chewing it slowly, enjoying it so I feel satisfied.
  5. Plan activities that involve getting out and doing something other than eating. Enjoy life.

I am 67 years old and 15 years out from my roux-en-y surgery. I initially lost 165 lbs. Over the years I have had great success and incredible lows. My battle for self-mastery over emotional eating has been a part of my post surgery journey. However, over the last 3 years I have gained 50 pounds and developed sensitivity to the proteins in milk, eggs, wheat, corn, soy, and to tomatoes, chocolate, and yeast. My metabolism has slowed over the years which makes losing weight nearly impossible. I am also losing my hair. My hairline has receded almost 3 inches in the last 5 years. I am very concerned about what is happening to my body. It is easy to tell people that they must eat less and exercise more; however, I am finding it is advice that no longer works. I am now at my wits end because I have been suffering from near constant fatigue and weight gain for so long. I wonder if I must now accept my body as it is and stop trying to battle the incessant weight gain. Am I alone with these symptoms? If you have had similar issues how are you dealing with them?

Hello, I am 12 years out, for the past two years struggling between 230 to 262 going up yet my excerisize abilities has been a problem up until May. I felt lethargic and ate more than I should. I had extra wheel from previous weight loss
My friend invited me to a all girls luncheon. Introduced me to eating plant food in a capsule. Fruits and Vegetables. I started them May 25 ,20222 and had a few blood test done in July. My Doctor informed me that the numbers he see's are great. Even my Cholesterol was where it needed to be. I new I was approved to have my third wheel excess skin and fat removed August 22, 2022. I continued eating the food of various vegetables and fruits and noticed one day looking out my kitchen window that i was not hurting and I was very calm within side myself. I had suffered from Fibromyalgia since the 90'S Osteoarthritis early 2000's. My weight had been coming off slowly after five years after post-op. I went from 398lbs in Oct. 2010 to 230lbs 2yrs later. Stayed right there at 230lbs for a couple years. Slowly crepe up a lb at a time. Well, from May25th when I started this new food in a capsule til August8th i lost 18lbs. Continued onto the new surgery on August 22nd.2022. Iam four weeks out. I had no pain during my healing and after. All staples are out and just at easy going no lifting I had 186 stitches inside. they have four more weeks for inside healing. All my numbers with blood tests are great. I feel great, and am walking much easier with out the dragging third wheel around my hips, back and thigh's. I will continue using this wonderful food, Silly me! It's called Juice Plus! I would love to share it with anyone interested.( I was loosing my hair too, my skin was dry, constipated no more) I want to help you!

I am in the same boat! I am 12 years post gastric bypass. Covid kicked me mentally and I am gaining weight back and falling back into an unhealthy relationship with food.

Hello, I am new and I just signed up for this support group out of frustration and pure determination to be around a strong support group. My gastric bypass surgery was in 2004. My journey started at 292 lbs and I lost close to 160 lbs. My Lowest weight was at 130 lbs.

In the past 20 years, I have been doing fantastic, but I have to say in the past 2-3 years I have noticed my weight slowly increasing. And I promised myself I would never go back to the weight I was 20 years ago. I have had some traumatic loss in my family, Plus my body has been going through hormonal life changes, making it more difficult for me to lose the remaining 5o lbs of weight. So I completely understand where you are at. I have been doing a lot of research on my own, and working with my primary doctor. However, I feel that finding an additional bariatric doctor will possibly jump-start a new path. I would be happy to keep you posted on my findings if you like.
