Water Intake after the "Sleeve" seems IMPOSSIBLE! :(

I am 3 weeks post op and also struggle getting in enough fluids. I am hoping that when I return to work tomorrow and am sitting at my desk, it might get easier. I think the toughest part for me is that with the 4 meals I have scheduled a day, no drinking 30 minutes pre/post meals, and 20-30...

    Moving on to regular food....

My doctor's plan has me adding beans (pinto, kidney, black) next week. I don't introduce things like potatoes until month 6. Follow your doctor's advice.

    almost two weeks post oo

It's been interesting with company. My mom bought cupcakes, but I made sure they were chocolate (I have never really cared for chocolate cake). I've made lunch and dinner for my granddaughter. I have made a point to find things that others like and I don't. My Mom and Dad wanted Burger King...

How soon after surgery were you able to wear pants? Did you buy special pants?

around the house I wear sweats, but yes, as long as they aren't too snug, you can wear anything in your closet. I have one incision just above my belly button that is right at waistband location. Jeans weren't the best idea for the first week.

    almost two weeks post oo

I am actually glad to still be in the 2-week post op diet my doctor has me on. My parents arrived yesterday; my granddaughter today and I sure can see my old stressors would be hard at work if I didn't know I could turn away from food. I even wen tout to dinner tonight with the other...

    Starting the process

There were no special recovery instructions due to the hernia surgery. I am very happy that I chose the sleeve. I am into my second week and doing great. My pain level has been minimal. Still working on getting enough fluids. I think that is common for all the surgeries.

    Starting the process

I chose the sleeve. I wasn't too keen on the idea of adding more foreign objects into my body. I already have plates and screws for a broken leg/ankle. My surgery was last week. The doctor discovered a hiatal hernia while in there and fixed it. I have been very fortunate and have had little...

    Misc. Questions

I have been very fortunate and had little to no pain since post-op day 3. I was in the hospital one night and my son and his girlfriend stay over night the first day home. As for driving - you have to also be pain med free. I drove my car on Thursday (Monday surgery) to take paperwork to the...

    Need advice

I haven't told too many people either. I have had some that for some reason think I had my gallbladder removed. I didn't correct them, but once I get back and I have more weight loss, if they ask, I'll tell. That is something that makes this site great, you can talk about it and know that we...

    Feel like I cheated

Yes, I had my surgery last Monday. I feel great actually. I am still struggling to get in enough fluids, but getting closer to goal. I also had a hiatal hernia repair so I think what discomfort I feel may be from that. I've been very fortunate and had minimal pain. The first two days, I had...

    Starting the process

I had my surgery on 12/9. I opted for the sleeve because of the mal-absorption issues with the R-N-Y surgery. I like the idea of still having a stomach that will absorb nutrients better appealed to me. I also was hesitant about the lap band because with screws and plates in my leg/ankle from...

    Abdominal Pain.

I had a hiatal hernia they discovered while doing my sleeve procedure and he fixed it right there. It is what is causing me the most discomfort. I have been trouble finding info on post op for the hernia. Certainly wasn't what you expect, even though he said it is common to discover them...

    Waiting!!!

I wasn't allowed to have anything to drink until after 7:00am on day two. I was given some mouth swaps. Just didn't do the trick. Welcome to the world of Post Op.

    One day post op

Slept in my own bed last night. That was great. A few hours of sleep at a time. I woke up around my normal morning time. I kept breakfast down. I've been drinking water, but that does hurt a little. I even managed to poop this morning And yes, the hernia repair is much more tender than any...

    One day post op

I had my surgery yesterday morning. Everything went well. The Dr did discover a hernia while in there and fixed that. I woke up in recovery around 1:30 or 2:00 but didn't get to a room until 7:00 pm pain is manageable. The hernia repair is more tender than the other. I've been doing laps...

One day seperating me from surgery

I have to be at the hospital at 8:00am for a 10:00am surgery. I am lucky, it is only abut 6 miles away - early morning starts or drives the night before. Good luck to all of us.

    Three more days

I did pack a loose pair of pajama bottoms and oversized t-shirt. I have a nice pair of cushy slippers with non-slip soles. But most importantly, I have a new Snoopy (from Kohl's cares) to keep me company in the hospital. I rarely go without one. No need for the sanitary items - last time I...
