    Less than 24 hours!!!

Me too. I've been to the grocery store and stocked up on protein shakes (paid a little more than Costco prices, but I didn't have to deal with Costco.) Laundry done, gifts wrapped and under the tree. I have my bag about 90% done. I went into the office today to tie up loose ends and submit my...

    18 months post op

I am really happy to hear you had such great results with the sleeve. I am having the sleeve surgery on Monday. I know they say that the RNY statistically has better results. Thanks for giving me hope and encouragement that I can see my results with the sleeve. Congratulations.

    Restlessness??

I finally got to bed around 2:00 last night but thankfully slept until 9:00. Laundry is about done. dishwasher run. I finished and wrapped the baby blanket I was making for my co-worker and his wife. Their baby is due two days after my surgery. He asked if I would be in the same hospital, but...

    Restlessness??

Has anyone else been experiencing restlessness? I thought with the pre-op diet I'd be sluggish. This is a four day weekend for me and it is driving me crazy. Last night I finally went to bed around 12:30 and was up early this morning. I've been cleaning house and working on some projects. I...

    Thanksgiving

I am on my pre-op diet so I just stayed home yesterday. I did have turkey, but that was it. Turkey and Protein shakes all day - 800 calories. the "average" calorie count for Thanksgiving would have lasted me 5 days.

    Got my date!

A few years ago I broke my leg requiring surgery. It was a two week wait for Surgery and the night before, they called to cancel and move me another 4 days. I was so upset - you get all psyched for surgery it is hard to go through it again. But you have all of us wishing you the best and know...

    Protein shakes

If your concern is protein count, the Premier Protein shake has 30g in one shake. No need to add anything to it.

Count down to surgery - 11 days

I am keeping busy today by wrapping the Christmas presents I've already purchased. I am still trying to decide if I want to go take in a movie later. Currently just enjoying what's on Directv. Good luck to all my "Sisters in Surgery". It is nice to have so many of us in the same stage of our...

Count down to surgery - 11 days

Final appointment with the Surgeon today. Currently my surgery is scheduled for 10:00am on the 9th. I am pre-registered and my co-pay has been paid. The head nurse gave me a nice tour of the surgery center, explained what to expect. Only thing I didn't see was the actually OR or the room I'll...

    Protein shakes

I also use Premier Protein shakes. They carry them at Costco in a box of 18. My local grocery store (Vons) sells them in a 4-pack. It is a few cents more at Vons. I really like them and I can tell you I am really picky.

Things we can do post op & when

I remember them saying something about lifting (nothing heavier than 5 lbs maybe), but can't find it in my patient binder. Mine says I can drive as long as I am off pain meds. And it does say I can resume sexual activity whenever I feel up to it. Guess I'd need to find someone to resume it...

    Pre-op diet starts tomorrow

I have seen a lot of different pre-op plans being posted by others. I know that no one plan is right or wrong - just what your own doctor prefers. I will be able to have one meal per day with solid food (protein only) to go with the 3 protein shakes. I cooked my turkey today so I could have...

    Count down - 16 days.

Since my surgery is now just 16 days away, my work has had to start arranging coverage for me. An email went out that simply said I would be out on medical leave. Of course that has resulted in a few phone calls. I have gone with my instincts about what info to share. I can say that for the...

    Surgery Time

I won't find out surgery time until the Friday before. But, I live only 5 miles away so I won't have the same issues. Now, getting my son who is my ride to get up early..... If I know him, he'll just stay up. And he has class the night of my surgery, but I told that works out well. I'll be...
