UH-OH!! about 10 days post op... list of concerns.. (But feel generally ok)

Question.. did you have a gastric bypass or a sleeve done? Sometimes they leave the stomach larger with the sleeve. I know with the bypass I struggled to eat 2 bites and then I was sooo full like i just ate a Thanksgiving dinner. My stomach held 2 ounces and when drinking it was rough drinking...

UH-OH!! about 10 days post op... list of concerns.. (But feel generally ok)

Something I forgot to say is the most important thing is to not exceed your 1 or 2 ounce limit per meal. Be very careful especially the first few weeks so you dont end up having emergency surgery.

UH-OH!! about 10 days post op... list of concerns.. (But feel generally ok)

Hi! Glad you are losing weight so well! Congratulations! My bariatric surgeon strongly stressed that it takes a full 3 weeks for stitches in the stomach to heal. If you over eat before the stitches heal your stomach can break the stitches and leak which is a life threatening situation. He even...

    Severe stomach pain - advice?

I would go to the ER if you are worried about it. Its probably the flu if your husband just had the bug but what if its not and something is wrong? Better to be safe. So many people are getting bariatric surgery nowadays, they should have someone who is knowledgeable about gastric bypass'. Good...

Try noy to despair! What were you doing different when you lost all your weight? Something has to be different. It could be your thyroid and it will take a little while to adjust the dosage. Try to stay positive. Drink your fluids to wash your fat out of your body. Eat enough protein to maintain...

    3 week post op

WELCOME to the Forum!!! Sometimes weight loss is slow at first cause they fill a person up with fluids at surgery. I was in the hospital for a week because I couldnt drink and I came home 20 lb heavier than when I was weighed the morning of surgery. So I had to lose that weight plus I ended up...

Thanks Beth! I had gained weight a little at a time over many years. Gained very easy and dieting didnt work for me until I had my bypass. Hi Everyone! I have some questions and some good news

The sleeve surgery just simply limits how much you can eat at a time. It doesnt change your metabolism. When you eat less you will eventually lose weight. I had the bypass and my stomach was made smaller plus my intestine was re-routed to not absorb as many calories. My weight came off much...

WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!! Your pouch should hold about 2 ounces now so even if you are hungry you should fill up with 2 bites of food. I was allowed to eat an egg with cheese melted on it at 3 wks post op. I have eaten that most every day since then and have done fine. Why doesn't your surgeon...

    Just some questions

Hi! WELCOME to the Forum!!! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS!!! Have you been taking your vitamins? Maybe you are low in Vitamin K which will cause bruises. I think you should call your surgeon's office. They will know best. I have water weight and take Lasix every day or else I really get...

    Please help

You have the Sleeve surgery, which cuts the stomach size down. Everything else remained the same. You should fill up fast because your tummy only holds about 2 or 3 ounces now. The operation doesn't change your metabolism, just how much you can eat at a time. You shouldn't blame the surgery for...

Hi Everyone! I have some questions and some good news

Hi Karen! WELCOME to the Forum!!! During the surgery, they pump you full of fluids. I came home pounds heavier than when I checked in the hospital for surgery. It will eventually flush out of you. Takes about 3 to 4 weeks to get out of your system. Good luck! Cheyenne

    Vitiman Question

If breaking them in half helps you, I dont see why you shouldn't do it. As long as you get them down over the course of the day, it should be good! By the way, WELCOME TO THE FORUM, KRISTIE!!!
