During surgery they pump you full of fluids. I came home 20 lb higher than I was the day of surgery. It takes a few weeks for that water to leave your body. Follow your diet the surgeon gave you. You will lose weight! Good Luck!!! Cheyenne

I'm so happy for you! All will be fine. :) Your doctor was being careful when he cancelled the surgery because he detected a heart abnormality. Now that they know what is going on they have determined that your bypass can be done safely. I have heart failure and my surgery went great. When the...

    Perplexed

Sounds like your diet is good. You may have to modify your diet slightly, if you are hungry all the time. Talk to your nutritionist. I used to keep my chicken breast cut up into small chunks in the fridge and grab a chunk between meals as a snack. Some people need to eat more often than 3 times...

    Hi. my name is Kathy

Hi Kathy! WELCOME To The FORUM!!! I would suggest to go back to basics. Start with a couple days going on a clear liquid diet, then a couple days going on protein shakes. When you start back on foods, pick foods and amounts that you originally lost weight with. I like to eat salads with chicken...

    Perplexed

Eventually you will be able to eat and drink the foods you miss as long as you eat tiny portions which should fill you up because your new sized tummy is able to hold about 2 oz. Eat slowly and chew, chew, chew!

Surgery date scheduled for Sept. 23. Pre-op diet starting Sept. 9

Dear Linda and Ralph, Sorry I somehow missed reading this entire thread after you both responded about my knee. I don't understand how as I look for new dates posted every day. My knees are both totally trashed. Bone on bone, no cartilage at all. The orthopedic surgeon seemed quite shocked...

Got the date, about to start the diet!

I had terrible health problems, heart failure, breathing problems, they said I had COPD. I had hypertension, sleep apnea, I felt I was dying. I had RNY surgery and my sleep apnea is gone, my CPAP machine has retired to my closet and I'm off all my bloodpressure meds. I was insulin resistant...

    New Here, Hiiiiiiiiii everyone-Waves

Lol.. I can't stop weighing myself. I am addicted to the scale. I weigh myself at least 6 times a day everytime I go in the bathroom for any reason. I even weigh in the middle of the night if I get up to potty. But it has it's advantages because I always know what I weigh.. Lol Cheyenne
