    Help me please.........

Hi Boo Boo! Don't worry about the pain, my stomach was a little sore but really so much better than I ever expected. Most surgeons do the bariatric surgery laparoscopically now. It was a piece of cake not having to be cut open and it makes healing time and recovery very fast. As long as you have...

    surgery 6-23-2015

Thanks Dee for the complement. I am 66 yrs old and had surgery almost 2 yrs ago. It really changed my life, I wish I would have done it years earlier. I don't know of any books on bypass surgery but I obtained a wealth of information from the internet. There are articles on the surgery itself...

    Gained weight new area!! Help!!!

Sorry you are having problems. I would think you should go back to the clear liquid diet for a few days then maybe protein shakes then salads with chicken or something of the like. Try giving up the alcohol for awhile to see if that helps. Good luck to you! Cheyenne

    Chest Pressure

From the beginning with soft foods and even now food gets stuck especially if I eat too fast or too much in a bite. It hurts really bad. Certain foods like bread really caused me problems later in my journey for about a year I couldn't get it down at all and would gag, throw up with tons of...

Still no word on my surgery date

I would call every couple days to see if he decided on a date. Call til they give you a date. That's what I would do. Tell them you really want surgery before it gets too hot. Be nice and polite but firm! Cheyenne

    Needing advice / suggestions ASAP!!!!

What about Lactaid the lactose free milk? I see commercials on it all the time and it says it's real milk with the lactose removed. Two weeks after surgery I was allowed applesauce and cottage cheese and white flakey cooked fish, tuna and salmon. Of course a spoonful filled my new tiny tummy...

2 Weeks Post Op and Lost 11 pounds

I had my gastric bypass first and not much pain at all. 10 months later I had my umbilical hernia fixed and it hurt much worse than when I had my gastric bypass surgery. I would bet it is from the hernia repair. Cheyenne

2 Weeks Post Op and Lost 11 pounds

Hi Debbie! 11 pounds in the first 2 weeks is great! I came home from the hospital gaining weight because of all the fluids they give in the hospital. You have lost 36 lb since April 27, that's WONDERFUL!!! Be very careful not to overdue your exercise for the first 4-6 wks. Let your body heal...

Still no word on my surgery date

Hi Nisey! If I was you I'd be calling them. I'd just say I was afraid I missed their call. Some times people drop the ball and its best to touch base and find out what's up. I used to be more patient but as I have aged I found out that the squeeky wheel gets the grease! Good luck, Cheyenne

One Week Post Op and I'm feeling the sludge.

I was told to use the first month or so after surgery to let your body heal. You have plenty of time to get back in shape walking miles after your body has healed up and recovered. I was told to take it very slow at first and walking around the block was a goal to shoot for.. lol.. and you are...

    The pain... Omg...

So sorry you are going through such bad pain, Debbie. I'm sure most of the pain is due to your hernia and esophagus repairs. I had a hernia repaired when I had my hysterectomy done last summer and it was pretty painfull. My RNY bypass didn't hurt much at all when I had it done. Good luck to...
