    Evening problems

I have times where I cannot eat but can almost always drink as long as I sip and I do mean sip about a teaspoon and a half at one time. It goes down well. I tolerate the protein shakes but do have to sip them too. I don't care if it takes me an hour to drink one and I use many different recipes...

    weightloss

Hey mergatroid, I think I am slow at losing weight but I don't care just so it comes off. 17 pounds in one month is great. I lost 2 1/2 pounds in November over Thanksgiving and was delighted. It shows I can handle the holidays without gaining. Remember you are trying to get healthy and if you...

23yr male old new to Forum

Congratulations on your decision to get healthy. The roller coaster of emotions you are feeling right now are perfectly normal. I think we all regardless of age have felt pretty much the same way. I don't know the ages of most people here but I am sure there are many younger than I am. Take care...

    Sad and dismayed

I don't wish diverticulitis on anyone ever. I have had two bouts with it but neither required hospitalization. I was miserable though. Hope you mend quickly. Maybe by pass isn't for you but there are other procedures you might want to discuss with your surgeon. Joy

    newbie

Congrats on your decision to undergo Weight loss surgery. It will be a double whammy as far as vitamins (esp B12) with an ileostomy. You can expect your stoma to change with weight loss so don't be surprised if you need new supplies and you will have to be careful with nutritional needs. Keep up...

    Need Help!

You might be eligible for for a Lap Band. I know surgeons who have placed one after RNY. Also some surgeons do a kind of repair to your pouch. A seminar is the place to start. The repair is done like having an EGD (same as an upper endoscopy). Good luck on your search for information and a good...

    Weight Loss

I just got a lap band put on but had hernia surgery at the same time. At ten days post surgery I had not lost weight and in fact gained about 15 pounds in the hospital. It seems like at my six weeks appt I had lost about ten pounds and then steady loss every month of anywhere from 3-8 pounds a...

    Any Idea

I use Unjury as well and the temperature as previously mentioned is important. I use a shaker bottle becasue the nutritionist forbade the use of a blender. But, I do use the blender to make smoothies with a half a banana or some strawberries in it. What Leslie doesn't know won't hurt her ROFL...

    I'm Guilty...

fkrebs, They gave me a sheet with some of the protein counts for several foods that appear frequently in our diets. An egg is 7 proteins, an ounce of chicken, salmon, and beef is about 7 proteins. Eight ounces of milk is about 9 proteins (I think). One shake made with Unjury and crystal light...

    What's your favorite protein bar?

I, too, like the Quest protein bars and did order a variety pack. They are all gone at the moment and I can't remember the carb content. Sometimes I can't stick to the required carb contents of some things, but I always try. I couldn't have them until I was out about six weeks and when I first...

    I'm Guilty...

You might want to try a pouch test. Mainly what it consists of is a couple of days on clear liquids, a couple on full liquids and a couple on soft foods. it kind of gets you started again. There is info out there on it but I think when you buy the kit it just too expensive. As long as you follow...

    Opinion?

Dragonfly, Only you can determine whether you can return to work and it probably depends on the type of work and how you are feeling and whether you still need pain medication or can drive. I sort of feel that if you can get three weeks to recuperate you should take it but if it interferes with...
