    Been a while...checking in

Thank you Karenina, I am really feeling good most of the time. The only thing is I am unable to get off of my blood pressure medications. I am no longer on Metformin for my diabetes, but I still take 4 blood pressure pills a day along with an antidepressant and diazapam for anxiety.

    Been a while...checking in

Hi everyone! It has been some time since I have been here, but thought I would check in and give you all an update. Things are going pretty good in the weight department. At my TOPS meeting last week I have entered the Century Club In Waiting; which is for those who have lost a hundred pounds...

I was told by the nurse practitioner that at 5 months out I should only be eating 1/2 cup for a full meal.

    Gallbladder issues??

When I had my EGD before surgery, they said my gallbladder was fine, but I had a hiatal hernia. They repaired that during surgery. But what I am feeling right now, is burning pain, and it hurts just below the sternum. I am on full liquids, but did have to break down and have a taco today because...

    Gallbladder issues??

Thank you everyone. I went to the doctor today. The nurse practitioner saw me. She poked around on my stomach, asked me a bunch of questions, then decided before we start running test to try some changes in my diet. First she feels that I may have a stricture, but also wants to rule out stomach...

    Gallbladder issues??

Good morning. I know it's been a while since I posted on here. I feel that it's time to talk about the gallbladder. How many of you have had your gallbladder taken out since your surgery? How long after surgery did you have it done? What kind of symptoms did you have? I go see my surgeon on...

3 months post-op - how much should I be eating?

I do the best I can, but I don't feel my nutritionist really helps me all that much. Last time I was there, people kept giving me protein drink samples, and I have told them that I cannot tolerate them at all. SO I do what I can do. I will make some calls and see who I can talk to though. I feel...

    Feminine question.

I dont have any feminine issues along those lines, but shortly after surgery I had to have a cervical conization done and my cycles have been a little weird. I still have them monthly but the flow is totally different than what I am used to.

3 months post-op - how much should I be eating?

I agree you must eat your protein before anything else. I still have issues with that. My surgeon even said they may have to go in an dilate the opening to my pouch because I feel like food is always getting stuck. This has been going on for a little bit, but on the plus side, it keeps me from...

    Fainted yesterday

I can honestly say I have never had issues like this. I have been lightheaded a few times, and I have had some blood pressure issues, but I had those prior to surgery.

    New...36 hours to go...and I'm freaking out a little bit...lol

Hi Kim, I'm so glad that you have chosen our forum for support. I am also glad that you have made this hard decision of having WLS. It's surely not for everyone. I had my surgery on June 25 and haven't looked back. I have lost 61 lbs so far, and I will say that some days are a struggle getting...

    Checking in with everyone

Hi all. My husband's surgery went just fine. He has 3 small incisions on his abdomen and it is swollen, he is in some pain but otherwise doing fine. He got to come home Friday night because he was finally able to urinate. He walked around a bit yesterday, but I think he overdid it. Today he has...

    Checking in with everyone

Hi everyone! I know it has been a while since I have been on here. I am doing ok for the most part. The weight is coming off, I am at 61 lbs lost. I eat what and when I can. Stopping in for an update

Donna, sorry I didn't get back to you. I am taking classes online for a BA in Health and Wellness to become a nutritionist. I am increasing what I can but it has been hard. I see you surgery is tomorrow, I bet you are excited that its finally here.

    Stopping in for an update

I try to eat as much protein as I can. I am trying to go gluten free but that is really hard. No, I am not in a support group. My surgeon's office holds one on the 3rd wed of each month, in the evening, but it's an hour drive to Dallas in rush hour traffic. I live in a small town and all the big...

    Stopping in for an update

Thanks Tom. Donna, it does feel good to be in baggy clothes unless you are doing something and they try falling off of you... I am not able to drink the protein, it makes me sick. I am trying to eat foods high in protein, like egg whites, protein bread, shrimp and anything else I can...

    Stopping in for an update

Hi everyone! I know it's been a while since I posted on here. I am alive and well, though some days I really wonder about that...lol . I'm just about a half lb from a 50 loss right now. It has been a little rough since I was able to eat real food, and I still have to eat with caution...

    Need help getting in protein

Pat, the good thing about that bread is that it only 1 carb per slice. I am probably going to order some. I did find an awesome shake that I can drink. Have you heard of Shakeology?? It is pricy though. I was a given a sample from my chiropractor on Friday. I gave me energy, I wasn't hungry all...
