new from Texas and tired of these shakes

Hi Tammy! Glad to have a fellow Texan here with me. What area are you from?? I bought some protein drink mixes from New Life Bariatric, the cappuccino flavor is pretty good, the orange-cicle is ok, seems a little thick and sweet for me though.

    Powder vitamins making me nauseous

Thanks Pat, I will definitely look for those when I go to Walmart. My husband says that the reason the vitamins are making me feel sick is because my body isn't used to them. Wasn't really sure about that, but we will see. One of my friends suggested crackers and that is fine and well until...

    Powder vitamins making me nauseous

I guess as long as my vitamin intake is good then there shouldn't be a reason why I couldn't take them. Thanks

CarolElaine & Karenina, I'm sorry to both of your for your losses. In October, I lost my mom 3 days after her 65th birthday. She had been in a nursing home for 4 years...originally just in there for rehab on a diabetic ulcer, then she just went down hill. I am like she was....diabetic, high...

    Surgery Done!

Congratulations! Did you know ahead of time that they were removing your gallbladder?? Some people have said that some surgeon's automatically take it out and others say it comes out later after surgery. The only thing I know that my surgeon is doing is repairing my hiatal hernia when doing my DS.

    Just starting my journey

Karenina, this started for me technically a few years ago. I had always given some thought to having weight loss surgery, but my husband said I would never make state or chapter queen, let me explain this...I belong to a weight loss support group called TOPS (take off pounds sensibly) which has...

New Life Bariatric protein and vitamins

Wildrose, I use Wellesse liquid calcium citrate with D3 and it tastes great, it is an orange flavor. My iron pills are small enough to swallow, and I should be able to after surgery because they are tiny. I take Flintstone gummy vitamins but New Life Bariatrics has a crystal one that you just...

    Help, 15 Years After Surgery

I agree with you about University Hospital. My oldest son was born there. But when he was 10 months old and got really sick they kept telling me he had bronchitis, when in fact he had croup and was hospitalized at Denver General for 3 days, then went home had a seizure and was back in the...

Hi-New and Nervous from Northern California

I'm happy that you found a TOPS chapter, they are great people. The closer I get to surgery date, the more nervous I get, but in a good way. I check this site daily for new info and I am always going over my instructions from the surgeon's office.

    Caffeine Withdrawls

Thanks Tom. Yes, I know that coffee and soda are out after surgery, that is why I was trying to stop them now. My husband was trying to be sweet when we went to Wal-mart he saw a great deal on flavored waters and he asked me to come and pick out a flavor, but I told him that the water he was...

    Waiting for date...

Hi Deni, Cruises are so much fun. I went on a 5 day cruise to Cozumel and Progresso, it was great and I actually lost weight on the cruise. We had planned on going this year but that isn't going to happen now, so maybe next year.

Hi-New and Nervous from Northern California

Tom, those are great questions. I am an hour away from my surgeon but they are really good about answering questions any time I have one. I know in the packet they gave me it mentioned when to call the doctor or go to the ER and to make sure that you inform them that you recently had the...

    Caffeine Withdrawls

Well I had done that to begin with. I was drinking several cups of coffee every morning with my hubby and sodas frequently, I am still drinking some soda but its caffeine free, and I had cut my coffee down to 1 cup each morning. I drink lots of tea, but it too is decaf, because my pcp wanted me...

    Caffeine Withdrawls

Hi everyone! I have been having awful headaches and migraines over the course of the past week. I am under some stress at home, but also have stopped drinking caffeine. Is there anything I can do at home to keep my headaches under control? I can't think, or concentrate on my school work, and...
