The Noxema worked pretty well. I am still a little sore but it's not unbearable. My room is nice and cold since we got the new AC so I am really cold right now, but oh it feels sooooo good.

I haven't had that problem. I am having the switch, but it seemed that my insurance covered most everything. Have you tried calling them to see what you can have?

    Sunburn pain

Thanks everyone! Yes, my grandson had some minor burning on his back, but he is used to playing outside without a shirt on. Mine is on my chest, shoulders and upper back. Last night my husband put lotion on me, but the wrong kind, so I had trouble sleeping...mind you, it wasn't his fault. This...

Hi! how are you doing? I see you are in TX, what area do you live in?? What surgeon is handling your procedure? I am going through Wade Barker up in Dallas. It's about an hour drive for me, as I live in Covington. If you are not familiar with that town, it's half way between Ft. Worth and Waco...

    Sunburn pain

Good morning. I promised my grandkids yesterday that I would go to the pool with them. Normally we are only there about an hour and back home. Well my son in law decided that he had stuff to do so he dropped everyone off at his mom's house to go swimming and took off. She is out of town on...

    Grief for past life?

I agree, Mary, what a great post. I too am wondering how I will handle things in my house when I have my surgery. Some days I feel that I want to start my liquid diet early, but am worried that if I do, then it will be harder to be on it longer. I am only required one week. Tonight I have to...

    Got the call - June 06, 2012

Mary, my husband doesn't eat out very much, he is one to rather have me cook him healthy dinners which include grilled meats, steamed veggies and a side. It's the rest of the family that has a hard time dealing with my needs. There is too much junk in the house, and I manage to stay away from...

    New to this all

Hi Missey, I also drink the EAS AdvantEDGE, it is low carb and has 17 grams of protein for an 11 ounce bottle. They come in 4 packs at Walmart for $4.74. I like the chocolate fudge the best, french vanilla is ok, but I don't care for the strawberry. Unjury is good too, the vanilla is good...

Great news at the doctor's visit!

Even people that haven't had the surgery can experience dumping....not sure they call it that though. When it happens to me, I get really flushed, my head pounds to no end, the cramps get severe and I feel like throwing up....I usually have to pour cold water over my head to make it stop...

    11 days until surgery

Hi Bobbi, it's great that you decided to have WLS. I should've done this a long time ago, but I'm glad it's happening now. My husband has great insurance and the benefits are awesome. I also want to get rid of many of my medications and would love to be able to do more things with my grandkids...

    I need some ideas!!!

Well Tofu is one thing you won't catch me eating. I will stick to steamed zucchini and squash. I don't care for eating soups in the summer time, but considering my alternatives, I don't think I have much of a choice. I love cottage cheese, so I will eating plenty of that this summer along with...

    i'm just getting started

When I had to take my evaluation, it took 3 hours for the pages and pages of questions they had to ask me. Everything ranged from my personal life to my eating habits and such. After she went over all the paperwork, they scheduled an appointment. The lady was really nice and and we had about an...

    i'm just getting started

Karen, why were you only allowed 2 ounces of water an hour? That doesn't seem like it would be enough to keep you hydrated. How often should I be drinking my fluids after surgery?

    Finally got clearance

I understand, carbs are my downfall. I love potatoes and bread, but I know I need to have will power, which is something I struggle with right now. I have been fairly good about staying away from potatoes, but it is harder when it comes to rice or pasta as they are trigger foods for me. I am...

    Finally got clearance

Pat, you sound so much like me. Unless I am expecting an important call, I out my phone on vibrate or give it to my daughter so I can sleep. I also have a special lock on my door so my grandkids can't get it open. I have been getting sleepy around 10:30 or so and have to get up at 4am with my...
