Hugs to you pjb!
I did something similar with soup too. I am finding it difficult to know if I'm full because my mouth isn't done yet. I think I have to just take it slower. Hopefully with the soft foods I'll be able to tell I'm full better. Hang in there, like Linney said bad eating habits...
Hi Mrs. West!
Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I think the angst I had before my surgery was worse than my surgery. I feared the vomiting more than the pain and can say I have had no vomiting and had minimal pain. Like the others I had the pump in the hospital. I came home the next day and...
I too say, time to purchase an immersion blender or something better! I'm still on the post op liquid diet. I can have cream of wheat, I cook it in broth. It taste better. I can also have cream of soups strained. I'm not big on processed foods so today I made roasted tomato soup and put spinach...
Hi nancy,
I'm one week out today. I had hard burps with pressure. They were uncomfortable but not pain. I thought it was because they fixed my hiatal hernia. It has definitely slowed down.
I hope your feeling better too!
Hi dragonfly!
I just had my surgery on Tuesday. I think I'm doing great. I just began to lose the weight I gained from the surgery and already feel so much better. I must be one of the lucky ones as I don't really have pain. I have discomfort and gas pressure, but I wouldn't call it pain. I am...
I had my surgery on Tuesday, oct. 30th. I got home yesterday and am doing very well. Well I think. I have gotten some gas when I drink water. It's tolerable. What I think I have is a cold. My boyfriend caught one earlier this week. I made him go home last night and started feeling congested...
Congrats on your surgery Terry & fkrebs. I hope my recovery goes as smooth!
Thank you for your replies and stories. They are so helpful.
Terry when I had my children, I remember that getting up from lying down was hard. And laughing! That is all I remember of pain. I don't think I was on any...
Hi Kim,
I have mine next week. I can feel your concerns. You'll be fine. My doctor reassured me how rare complications were. You'll be fine. As for the shame that comes with this, I feel it too. We are doing something about our problem. It takes guts! No pun intended. Good luck tomorrow. Will...
That is too funny! I don't think I look fine but I think I am smaller than I am until I see a photo too.
Sandie that's a good question about the hormones. I wondered that myself. From how I understand it I don't think they're there once removed. As far as eating your feelings goes, I think...
Hi Brandy!
I haven't had my surgery yet but I had my endoscopy last week. It wasn't bad at all. They give you "twilight" meds so you don't remember a thing. I was extremely thirsty afterwards and I did have a sore throat. It was gone the next day. You do have to have someone drive you.
Good...
Thank you Tom. Salt craving is gone. It was really just that one day.
Well I found out I can eat vegetables, yogurt, & cereal! Wish I had known sooner!:p
I do have a question. Has anyone felt super exhausted during this part? I am and got very lightheaded earlier.
Thanks Pat! I go for my pre-op appointments on Tuesday. I have a list. I'm gonna ask. I did read that if taking levoxyl or something for thyroid not to take it without a doctors blessing. I take armour thyroid which is natural. I'll find out on Tuesday.
Thanks again!
Gosh this is a great thread!
Pat, you only took the "hair" supplements when it began to fall out? I definitely need to get this. I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis. My hair falls out when my levels are off. My hair is very temperamental with my hormones. I am so glad I saw this!
To get this...
I don't think it's clear liquids. The day they told me to start this I wasn't feeling well. I remember her saying 3 protein drinks, jello, popsicles and broth/bullion. Then she said something about cooked veggies. I didn't hear that part. I juice and the nutritionist was all about that, so I...
