    Looking for info

I tried when a had Health Net. I could not get it done. I would think I was close and then they would send me somewhere else. They wanted me to loose 30 pounds before surgery and I came close, but I could not do it. After two years of thinking my surgery was just around the corner I...

    Needing help with required contacts!

    1. I had some funny anatomy so my first attempt at surgery was an exploratory and the second a sleeve. The were two weeks apart and while I would not wish two recoveries on anyone, I have no regrets. If any one wants more details I can give them, but I can say that by the second time I knew...

    New

Take it one day at a time, you will do fine. Get your post surgery foods together, make some meals for the freezer if you would like, try some different protein drinks. Start some light exercise, and celebrate your new opportunity. Even if you just start walking now it will help.

    Feeling dejected...

Don't give up, a lot of us had to jump through several hoops to make it happen. It is a bump. Not a road block. Keep after it. Appeal. Ask for help. Contact your primary doctor for back up. Just keep trying.

Nice work. There is a little time after surgery you almost melt, enjoy it. In the mean time keep up the great work.

    Lactose intolerance

Some of the soy products have really improved, so you might try them again if it has been awhile. Some of the lactose free products have gone from inedible to quite good.

    6 Month Milestone

I think your goal might be a little much, but that is really between you and your provider. Please remember your success is not measured by the numbers on a scale. You are doing great and keep up the good work. Second, try some of the second hand stores. Your at a weight where you should...

    Hello All!

It sounds like you are doing well. The stomach pain improves, walking helps. I use v8 too. It travels well. There are some other brands, Trader Joes that has less salt. Your taste buds will change over time also. Keep up the great work.

    Recovery time-time off work.

I think you need two weeks minimally. I took three but was really tired the first week. It depends on what you do for a living. I would not have been ok at one week. All the best, and keep us posted.

Feeling Overwhelmed with all of my tests pre-op

By the time it happens you will be fine. You have recovery time after surgery so get your meds and proteins, and the rest will follow. You will be a shining example about why this is a good program. Many folks need and want the surgery and can't do it. It took me three years to get it even...

    Need help.

It does get better, you may have to do smaller amounts. I would also get a second opinion, you might need a different medication. Walking seemed to get my intestinal track moving. It might help.

This is me, is that you?

Different things work for different people but you just have to try. Some things, including some protein drinks, were not so good after surgery but are better now. Everyone's plan advises different things. I am several months out, but some things that worked for me early on were sugar free...

    Foaming? What the heck!

It doesn't sound fun but at least it seems to have passed. I try, key word try, to stick with low fat foods a restaurants just in case. I also try, key word try, to pace myself so I don't overeat. It has happened to me once, Nacho's, I should have known better. Keep up the good work. You...

    Weight Loss Post Surgery- Sleeve

In my case the weight flew off just after surgery. Some hints: 1. It will slow down, you are eating very few calories and your body has had a stress but it will level out. 2. Don't weigh yourself more than once a week. Take the batteries out of the scale and leave it alone. You are not a...

Questions For Those Who Had Surgery Months-Years Ago

I am 6 months out. The scars are just lines and they get less and less all the time. I use good commercial lotions, and several different kinds. It just takes time and the most important skin tip, stay well hydrated, in my humble opinion.
