How Happy Are You With Your Decision To Have Weight Loss Surgery?

I have been there too Ok - as an addiction professional, i get this. Right now you are feeling the way an alcoholic feels after giving up drinking some 30 years later. It is a struggle to make those changes. when we don't see the results we expect, the honeymoon hits us . . . and we relapse...

    Can't please anyone......

I commend you on this tough choice. I took 2 years of battles with my doctors and others to have the surgery. I even fought with myself. Fortunately when I went to work for the state of VA the prison I work at had several people who had the surgery. Including my warden. He and others there were...

    Holy Sweet Tooth Batman!!

I have heard of your appetite changing, I know mine did. I went from craving sweets to craving salty carbs instead. There are certain spices that you can use in your day cooking, that will help combat cravings for salty, sweet, and plain breads. Dr. Oz did a segment on them the other day. Might...

Well i can tell you that I too was obsessed for months. Pick a standard time, scale, etc. to weigh. To gain a real perspective on how much we lose, and how well we lose it, once a week is a good picture. Example, monday morning, after your constitutional and before you eat. I used to do it prior...

Exercise from a chair is possible - My local gym has two pools, one is a therapy pool. It actually has a lift that they use to put patients, and their chiars, in the pool. That said, ask the doc if in your area ther eis such a thing. Most ymca's have it. Fortunately my gym was started by the...

I'm having a hard time transitioning to soft solids.

Slow down As our pouches receive new foods, they essentially revolt. You will find that when your pouch gets certain new foods, it will not like them. as some have said, start with a lot less. while you can handle cottage cheese, which is essentially a processed food, fish, is not. anything...

    cravings are crazy bad

unfortunately where I live, there is no local bariatric support group. I had my surgery 200 miles away. The closest surgeon is over 100 miles away. It might be good for me to start a support group here. If only I could find the time to regularly have meetings. would once a month be enough?

    Fitness Challenge - Who's game?

Ok, I really need some motivation to get my butt exercising again. I had been a real gym bunny for the first 2.5 years out. Then I had some health issues that landed my sidelined for almost a year. I now can safely go back to the gym, but hey, I am intrinsically lazy when it comes to working...
