6 Days Post Op - Questions...

I'm doing well from surgery on Monday, taking pain meds once a day. I'm logging all my food intake and I just want to make sure I'm doing well, my check up isn't for another 12 days. I'm keeping my protein between 55-75 per day but my calories are only 500-700 per day. Is that OK? Do I need more calories? I have not lost any weight since the surgery (be patient?), and it's a S T R U G G L E to get all the water in considering I have to take 30m to eat a meal, and can't drink 30m before or after that meal, and can only sip. Typical breakfast is a premier protein shake and a 5oz container of triple zero greek yogurt, lunch is 1/2c cream soup and unsweetened applesauce, dinner another protein shake, sugar free pudding, maybe a sugar free Popsicle or jello later on. Too much? Any comments are appreciated.

I have some of the same questions. I feel like we are eating very few calories. There is no way we could gain on this diet. I haven't weighed myself, I might buy a scale soon though so I can hold myself accountable. I still have swelling and I was thinking that if a person hasn't lost any pounds yet that maybe it was because of swelling?

My waist measurement was 10 inches higher after surgery. It took one month for all of my swelling to go down. I had gastric bypass so I was only allowed 4oz per meal or snack, so 4oz of protein shake or 4 oz of yogurt. 4oz of protein 6 times a day. It was hard to get it all in at first, but it gets easier. Give yourself time.

I had my gb on 7/9/19 and I found that it took about 4 days to lose the water weight after surgery. My anesthesiologist told me he was going to give me 4 liters of fluids while under.
My surgeon said it might take a few weeks to start losing weight after surgery. That being said caloric intake and working out are key to start losing weight.
The 4 oz meal and 80 oz of water a day plus 60 minutes of activity a day definitely help get the process started.
Since my surgery I have lost 17 pounds by following all 3 and its been 8 day's.

But remember everyone is different and it is a long process, don't get worried.
