Aspire

Hello my name is Vickie and I am trying to look into getting the non surgical procedure called Aspire. I seem to have a hard time finding it in my state of Virginia and I also wanted to find out is there a way I can get insurance to cover the some or all the cost. I want the aspire because I had the sleeve and after the death of my husband I regained all the weight plus some back so I wanted to try a different method.

I haven’t done extensive research on this method, but I do remember a lot of weight loss clinics regarding this method as too close to bulimia, thus shying away from it. You’d have to call your insurance to see if they can cover it.

My condolences on the loss of your husband.

I hadn't heard of Aspire before so I googled it. My first impression was that it reminded me of bulimia although it sounds like there's support there to eat healthy. Maybe someone here is more familiar with the procedure or knows of someone who has had it and might be able to share some thoughts. If not, while you are more than welcome to stay in this group, you might want to see if there's an online support group or facebook group where you can get more information from patients who have had this procedure. What ever you decide to do, I wish you all the best. Good luck!

I'd be very wary of the Aspire. It looks like a pathway to all sorts of addictive behavior. I also think it is a waste of food. A third of your money spent on food down the toilet. I also suspect that once off the device, regain would be pretty common except for those who significantly changed the way they eat. I don't know, it just seems like it's promoting what could be some pretty bad behaviors for some people.
