Hi Everyone,

I am a 5th-year doctoral student attempting to complete my dissertation. The proposed exploratory research aims to add to the literature and further understand the relationships among romantic couples’ dynamics, obesity, and bariatric surgery. Specifically, this study seeks to identify aspects of relationships affected by bariatric surgery such as post-surgery adherence challenges, perceptions of partner support, intimacy issues, outcomes of surgery, and overall patient health. The research aims to assist providers in understanding the relational challenges associated with bariatric surgery which may lead to further interventions. In addition, the current study aims to provide therapists medical providers, and allied healthcare professionals with information to increase the likelihood of positive outcomes following bariatric surgery.

Please let me know if you have any questions!
