bowel movement after surgery

I’m 1 week post op and I still have not had a bowel moment. Is this normal??

I did take a while for me too. But being on a liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery, I was pretty cleaned out. Then in hospital and for 2 weeks after it was just clear liquids so I figured my body just hadnt much need. About a week after surgery things started back up again. Once I was on pureed food, I added applesauce and beans which helped with fiber.

I also did not go for almost 10 days. I had RNY and my doctor required us to take Miralax daily for the first 30 days.

Yea I had that same issue. It was 9 days for me. I take Colase every other day
