I just being impatient?? Someone tell me it will get better!!

Hi Gettin Slim, Welcome. I had the RnY but some of us with RnY had some troubles with anykind of flud intake, it made them nautiouse, I didn't have that problem. We are all different whan it comes to some of the post surgery after affects but most of time they start going away when we heal up from surgery and our new stomachs get used to food and water. I am sure ther are others here that can tell you how they handled it. Tom

Slim in Buffalo-Welcome to the forum. Like Tom, I had the RNY. However, the situations are similar enough to compare. You may just be getting used to drinking again OR you may not be drinking enough fluids and might be starting to become dehydrated. Make sure you are sipping slowly. Just being 7 days post surgery you aren't going to be able to quite meet you daily fluid goal but as long as you are able to drink slightly more each day then you doing good. Keep track of how much you are drinking and keep in mind that things like sugar free Jello, popsicles, broth and protein drinks count towards your fluid intake. Give the nutritionist a call and ask him / her if what you are getting in is enough fluids. It will get better each day:) :) :) Also, you should have been given a prescription for an antacid which may help with the nausea. If not, give the surgeon a call and ask for something. Don't mess around with anything OTC, it could have stuff in it that makes things worse. Let us know how things turn out for you.
