Doctor anxiety

Does anyone else have doctor anxiety? I don’t feel this way about any of my doctors except my endocrinologist. I have Hashimotos, so my thyroid is pretty much done. I’ve been on a super high dose of levothyroxine for a long time, and it’s still high.
I guess it’s my history with him. I’d go in, he’d say you need to lose weight, just eat better, but then when I told him I was having weight loss surgery he wasn’t totally on board. He talked about the unknowns with long term vitamin deficiency in someone as young as me. It was just frustrating last year, but that obviously didn’t stop me LOL I had 2 endocrinologists before him, and one was ridiculously incompetent in treating me postpartum, and the other had the worst office staff, I wasn’t the only one to leave her practice because they were so bad. I’m hoping today he gives me some credit for my hard work so far, and I can stop having anxiety when my yearly appointment rolls around.
I should add that he’s nice enough, and never disparaged my weight, but he’s never really been helpful either.

That's interesting because my least favorite doctor (and I have quite a few specialists) is my endocrinologist! He's okay but my other doctors I actually look forward to seeing and this one is just an eh. The one I had many years ago when I first was dx'd with thyroid issues was even worse! So when I found out I needed thyroid surgery I was recommended to the Thyroid Clinic at New York Presbyterian. It was so worth it for me to travel 1.5 hrs into NYC. I had the top in the field there. Found out I not only had a goiter, Hashimoto's but I had Thyroid Cancer as well. I continued going in to the city for many years, but unfortunately my surgeon passed away. The new doctor who saw me was a very nice woman and I continued to go for checkups until I passed my 10 years cancer free (it is 10 years for Thyroid where most other cancers are 5). I then decided I would try again for a local endocrinologist who is part of my regular health care system which makes it easier for all my health information to be in one place. Anyway, now that I have ranted about endocrinologists ;) I hope your appointment goes well, let us know!

My endocrinologist appointment this morning went well. BP 126/66, pulse 75, so big improvements there. He’s pleased with my weight loss, and he’s lowering my thyroid med. He said I’ll do more labs this year as the weight continues to go down, which I expected. He’s pleased with my 100 lb weight loss goal, and doesn’t think I’d really need to lose more for my height and build. I expect I’ll hit a weight loss stall as my body adjusts to the new thyroid med level, but that’s fine.
I did talk to him about dizziness upon standing that I’ve been having more often. He said that it’s probably a low blood pressure issue and to increase fluids. I see my primary for my annual physical next month, so if it persists after increasing water, I’ll bring it up.

It very well could be blood pressure. On my good days my blood pressure runs around 107/62. Other days its been upper 90s/59/60. I get light headed really because of this. Also have to be careful of standing to fast after bending over. It sucks but you get used to it after awhile.
