Dreaded hair loss

4 months ago I had RNY surgery. I was told hair loss would likely hit me about June or July. I've been noticing a bit more hair in the brush lately. Tonight I had a hand full (okay a small handful) of hair come out in the shower . I had hoped to be a lucky guy and miss this side effect. It's not to be ☹️. I can't even get a haircut! Maybe I'll just shave my head. Or grow a beard (why couldn't that hair fall out?).

I know there's plenty of worse things to worry about, but it's frustrating.

Yeah, unfortunately most of us face it. But in my case, it has grown back so it is possible!!! My hairdresser noticed all these new shorter hairs coming in at about 8 months. I was thrilled. :)

I have a ton of new growth coming in that can be quite comical looking when I pull my hair all up in a bun on a windy day. I'm glad there is so much crazy growth, because I lost a LOT.

I have long beautiful red hair. I notice it in my brush on my hair ties, clothes, pillow and others. dose this stop. I lost 52 pounds since the surgery. I can't go to the gym and I am totally stressed do these issues effect weight loss.
Stress can definitely affect your hair, weight, skin, overall health... it can lead to ulcers, which you definitely want to avoid with your surgery! Stress raises cortisol levels in your body - temporary spikes are not worrisome, but if you have sustained stress levels, it is concerning. It would be interesting to hear what people are doing to reduce stress in the middle of all the craziness, and in general.

Don’t worry Taxman, it does grow back. I have always had long blonde hair, and I was devastated when it started falling out. My hair loss started at about 6 months and it got really thin. I have been using a shampoo and conditioner called Olaplex (I got it from Amazon) every other day and taking biotin daily, and now I am 1 year out and it looks really thick and healthy again :)
I know some people think this is trivial, but I completely understand.

I'm not really worried, but I remember back in college, a gorgeous woman approached me and ran her fingers through my hair. She just loved it. I asked her if she wanted some coffee or something, and she replied that she loved my hair, and had no interest in the rest of me!
