Hey guys,
I’m new here. My partner had weight loss surgery around Nov. 2018. His hearing has changed. He used to hear normally, and now he says that it often sounds like he’s in a tunnel with lots of echoing, etc.
He sometimes says his own breathing is too loud. If we are indoors in a crowd, he is easily overwhelmed by the noise. He asks me to repeat myself a lot, too.
I have been doing some reading and it sounds like this is a fairly normal side effect of the surgery. We tried putting cotton in his ears but it made it worse. We got some earplugs, and that’s a start, but has anyone found other home remedies for this issue? I know that his doc mentioned hormones to help - something about fat in the ear tubes - but I don’t know much about any of this. We also tried putting Vaseline in his ears, which did provide some relief. Anyone??
Thanks
