EDG not working?!? help. What now?!?!

So I had my bypass in 2012. Had emergency surgery Jan 2013 for post op leak and air caught in diaphragm. Have had 3 EDGs also in 2013. Some issues after that but nothing major. Fast forward to November 2021, I started throwing up maybe 1 time a week. I figured I didn't chew enough. Well, it go worse in December. It was everyday. Now this month, it's 2-3 times a day. Called GI doctor and saw within a week of calling. She preformed a colonoscopy and Endoscopy. They found an ulcer, hernia and a stricture that was almost closed up. When I woke up from that, I was in pain (8 out of 10) nauseous and vomiting. They sent me to the ER and was admitted. My new bariatric surgeon did an edg and i went home next day with a scheduled edg for the 31st to check the healing and try to open the stricture more.

I'm on clear liquids but I and still nauseous and vomiting worse than pre edg. Not even ice chips are working. My 2 questions are: 1-what happens if the 2nd edg doesn't work and 2- what else can the surgeon do to help.

I'm sorry to see that you're having so many problems. I'm glad that you are working with a bariatric surgeon. We can and will offer moral support. But your 2 questions can only be answered by a medical professional. Make sure you write down any questions, such as the ones above, for your surgeon.

It sounds like you have had an impressive journey. Your team should be able to give you more information. When I have question I do go to official medical sites (mayo, john Hopkins, AMA even webmd) to see what is out there and to help understand what dr tell me, the more informed I am the better questions I can ask. It also tells the dr I care about my health. What is edg for bariatric surgery?

Edg is when have to take a scope with a balloon on the end. The surgeon goes through mouth, goes down your throat and opens the stricture
