Finally, a diagnosis

Good news! I got the results back from my one week ekg today. I've been having episodes of supra ventricular tachycardia (SVT), which cause lightheadedness and drops in blood pressure, and can cause fainting.

My appointment with my cardiologist isn't until the 30th, so I'm not sure how we are are going to treat this, but at least we we know what is wrong. For some reason, just knowing they know what's wrong, no matter how scary it is, is better than having no clue.

I don't really understand the SVT thing. I think I'm too zonked to absorb the info.

Thank you both! I'll admit to being scared. I've had several close calls to more falls. I no longer feel comfortable driving. I'm hopeful a solution is right around the corner though! I can't afford to lose any more teeth!

I will be having my nose looked at tomorrow. It may be too late to do anything about it, but I had to take care of my jaw and teeth first. There is a visible cleft in the tip of my nose, where the fracture occurred. There has also been a pressure on my sinuses and tenderness around my nose. Maybe I will need plastic surgery, LOL!

I want to reiterate to anyone reading this, that my condition is not a postop complication. My blood pressure always runs low, periodically it drops really low. It has just taken a long time to diagnose it. Bariatric surgery in no way contributed to my condition. If I had to do it again, I absolutely would.

I have had a lot to deal with over the last few months, but I'm going to get through this, one day at a time.

I agree that it's 100% better to know what you're dealing with; good, bad or ugly. Because they cannot treat what they do not know. It really sucks that you have had to deal with your jaw/teeth/nose as well as everything else you have going on. I hope they get everything worked out for you and you can get back to normal .. whatever that is lol

What I learned yesterday.
  • Nasal fracture cannot be corrected, cleft is going to be permanent
  • Fracture corrected previous nasal septal deviation which has now allowed me to breathe easier through my nose (yes, some good came from this, this is probably why I don't need my sleep apnea machine at night)
  • Facial swelling in sinus areas, and headaches are likely caused by concussions from the fall. They suspect from my CT scan that I had several concussions. I don't understand why they didn't tell me this at the time. Ive been in a fog for a while, it would have been helpful to have known why. At any rate, now I am told until the bruising and swelling is gone, there is no way to evaluate treatment options.
  • I no longer care about hair loss. I can feel the texture of my hair changing. It is just hair. I will not mourn it's loss, there are way too many things to celebrate.
