First Appointment a SUCCESS

Today was my first appointment at a different bariatric center (choice #2). I met with a nurse first and then the surgeon. I can’t believe I got to meet with the surgeon on the first appointment. When I went to bariatric center #1, I met with a physician assistant and then a dietician (who red flagged me due to my previous BED in 2016). The surgeon was really impressive, informative and encouraging. I left with a binder loaded with all the information I need (pre-op plan and checklist, surgery overview, post-op plans for diet and exercise with log charts, meal plans, recipes and more). His nurse will call me tomorrow to schedule appointments with a dietician, psychiatrist, and schedule tests. They did blood work before I left. I drove home feeling so happy and hopeful (I might have shed a few tears). It’s like night and day compared to the first center I went to. I don’t want to get too excited because I know things can go wrong at any step along the way (with the psychiatrist, testing and insurance approval). Right now I’m feeling really optimistic (despite the fact that it is -12 degrees right now here in Minnesota).

Sounds like you are in a good place in good hands and supportive. You have found a good place to assist in your journey. Remember this is not a temporary fix this is for life. That is the way the VA dr talked to me about the surgery. It has helped me so much. May you find and experience all the blessings you deserve.
