I’ve officially lost 10% of my surgery day weight! I didn’t expect it to fall off so quickly (I’m not picking it back up either!) I know I won’t lose as quickly when I move past the pureed stage, and there will be plateaus moving forward. I’m just grateful that I’ve come through the post op stage without too much trouble.

My Dr will probably take my gallbladder out too when I have my surgery, bc i have stones. The nurse made a mistake with my surgery, she scheduled me for the sleeve Dec 2nd, i talked to my Dr about the sleeve w the duodenal switch. Thats what i asked for, so i cant have that one til Jan. Now i have to decide which to do.

If I were you, I’d wait to get the one you wanted. But that’s a personal opinion.

Hi! I am schudeled for grastric sleeve surgery on November 30, 2020.I am ready I think ...I start my liver cleanse next week. I had the worst dream last night after meeting with medical staff yesterday. I dreamed my hair fell out and I loss so muchweight and I couldn't stopped losing." I have health issues and have tried every other weightloss avenue. Has anyone loss hair and had apprehensions about the surgery?

Hi Mary! Welcome!! I can’t speak for everyone here, but I definitely had apprehensions. I was mourning food that I was saying goodbye to (some temporary, some permanent), but also the uncertainty of healing from surgery, will I have complications, what if I lose it all and then gain it all back, and a big one, how can I change mentally to become successful physically? And honestly, I just had to put on my big girl pants and face it head on. Here’s what I told myself: I’m going to lose some hair, big deal hair grows back; I’ll be able to eat delicious foods still, so stop telling yourself you’re losing out. Complications might happen and I have an amazing care team and support system, so I’ll make it through. What if I lose it all then start gaining-well that’s where my care team will come into play. And the big one, how do I change myself mentally to be successful physically - one day at a time. Having long term goals is great, but for me the short term are what I focus on.
Now all that being said, that’s how I had to deal with my brain, and everyone is different. We all motivate ourselves in different ways.

It always feels good to make progress! Be sure to take some measurements as well to track on a monthly basis when the weight loss slows (if it slows), it can be a powerful way to see your success, even more so than the scale.

Stay focused and make good choices!! You are going to do great!
