Hi. I had my gastric bypass surgery a week ago today. My surgery ended up taking more than hours and it sounds like they had me in an inclined almost standing position for part of it. Ever since waking up from the surgery I had issues with numbness and tingling in my right arm and then pain and numbness in the bottoms of my feet, much worse so on the right side. My doctor said this can take weeks to go away. Sure enough my arm has seemed to get better a little bit each day but my foot pain has become less numbness and more pain. I’ve also noticed that my right foot, ankle and calf are all very swollen compared to my left leg. They did an ultrasound to be safe and ruled out a blood clot but other than that are just wanting to take a wait and see approach. The pain is constant and pain killers help but don’t totally mask it. Has anyone else experienced this type of foot pain after surgery? To be honest it’s starting to really worry me that it may not be a temporary thing.
