Your weight at this point means practically nothing. During the first month, give or take, there is a lot of fluctuation in body fluid, hydration, ketosis, swelling, and other changes that everyone experiences a bit differently. Of course, we want to see it drop as quickly as possible, but the bottom line is, there are changes happening regardless of what the scale reads on a particular day or week. Each person's biology deals with post-surgery in its own way. Follow the recommended guidelines to perfection and step away from the scale for a while. I know that is hard to do.I recently went for my 2-week post-op check. I lost 1 lb in the 2 weeks. I’m frustrated because even with significant surgery and restricted eating, I only lost 1 lb. Any encouraging words?
Oh gosh, every one is so different but I’ve heard from several others that this was their case as well so you definitely are not alone. Be patients and listen to your body. I came out of surgery 10lbs heavier!
I'm so sorry to hear about your struggle. The surgery is a tool, not a cure. It is supposed to give your body the chance to work with your brain (head hunger) by decreasing the hormonal hunger signals you experience that interfere with the normal "I'm hungry" and "I'm full" messages.I had my surgery in July and haven't lost a pound since the 6 week recovery period..... Gave up 2/3 of my stomach for nothing... I'm completely confused as to what part the surgery plays in weight loss.
