Good news & question about gurgling

This morning I hit Onederland! Yay!

My question, the past few days my stomach has been gurgling. It feels fine when I wake up but as soon as I put anything in it, even just water, this sensation returns and lasts all day. It feels like like air bubbles or bad hunger pangs.

It started after I took my meds/vitamins on an empty stomach this past Thursday and became nauseated to the point of drooling everywhere, then very painfully dry heaving for about 5 minutes.

I've had to throw out the 30 minute rule from day one since taking vitamins on an empty stomach gave me heartburn. No heartburn since taking them with food but it means drinking during my meals to swallow them. Also since surgery I can only swallow one pill at a time, and there's LOTS, and it feels like it takes forever to take them twice a day.

I did start drinking caffeinated green tea recently. Maybe that's the cause of the gurgling? Too soon? I read something about taking a 14 day regimen of antacids when this happens. Does anyone know if that means just chewables? It's making me feel icky.

Thanks! (And yay!)

Yay on Onederland!! Have you tried Gas X for the gurgling? It helps me when I have it bad. I’ve gotten to the point where I can’t even take my bariatric vitamin while. It’s a capsule and it feels like it gets stuck when I swallow it. I open it and put it in apple sauce or pudding. It’s helped. My other meds have to be taken on an empty stomach as soon as I wake up, but I’ve taken them for 13 years, so I’m used to it.

Congrats on reaching wonderland! Gurgling is common. For me it comes and goes. I can't take vitamins on an empty stomach at all. I do chewable vitamins for the most part but the few that I have to take water with are pretty small so it doesn't take much water to get it down.

Congrats! My stomach gurgles so often, I don't even think about it anymore. Anytime I eat or drink, I'll have noises for several minutes, sometimes more than others. I'm sure it varies from person to person, but I suspect it depends on the alignment and shape of our guts and such after the surgery. It's fairly constant for me and I figure is just the norm now.

The 14 day regime does not refer to chewable antacids like tums etc. It's more for the OTC pills, like Prevacid, Nexium and Prilosec. But gurgling is more likely to be gas or digestion. I noticed once everything healed, I am very aware of digestion. I am currently home so I find the sensation of movement worse than the noise.
