So it has been a full month now, of 5 days a week at the gym, walking on an underwater treadmill. I started off at a turtle pace, which took me 45 minutes to walk a full mile. I've been inching my way up in mph and am able to walk that same mile now in 25 minutes! I am feeling better and better everyday, I have more energy and I sleep soundly! I have had a few days where I was slightly sore, but nothing in comparison to what it would be like if I were to use a land treadmill. Yesterday I did 30 minutes on the treadmill going a bit over the mile and then I did my first every aqua Zumba class. Can I just say WHEW! The treadmill definitely worked my lower half but that aqua Zumba is all upper body! I thought perhaps my arms would fall off and I had no idea how I was supposed to reattach them! It is definitely a workout! They are going to be adding a water yoga type class next month, and for the first time in my life I'm excited about exercise.
I totally recommend this type of exercise to everyone if it is possible in your area, or at the very least, I hope your able to find something you like to keep things moving along your journey.
