Hello all

I was finally sleeved on Monday 6/22! I think so far it has went well. I was discharged noon the following day. I haven't targeted 64 oz down yet but I think I will get there today. I'm down 38 oz so far today. No pain meds since Tuesday morning. Gas is tough tho.
I was bypassed on Monday the 22nd. I joined this site today. I'm glad to find someone with the same surgical date. I am actually in a pretty similar situation as you, so it made me feel better to see where I am is normal. Thanks for sharing.

I am feeling surprisingly well. Not too much pain, just overall soreness. Now I'm just trying to figure out what to drink for the rest of the week. I'm glad I found this group. It feels like I've entered a whole new world.
Welcome! I had my bypass on June 15 so only a week ahead of you on this journey :) ... I've also been fortunate that my 2 weeks post op have gone surprisingly smoothly and I haven't had any issues with nausea/vomiting...when I was able to start sleeping on my right side THAT was a milestone -I sleep better on my side and it signaled my incisions were indeed healing and my insides were starting to sort themselves out... the 'what to drink' struggle is real indeed... my life-saver go-to has been the Isopure protein drink (tastes mostly like ice tea with lemon and isn't 'shake' consistency - which I was tiring off).... best part is it's a 20 oz bottle with 40g of protein (160 cal)... drinking it in the morning means I'm over half way to my protein goal right out of the gate. I've also been sipping on my 'gin-n-juice' (and by gin-n-juice I mean protein water ;) ) and I like the Protein20 which has 10-15g in a 16.9 oz bottle (50 cal)...good luck this week!

It's great to see people with close to the same surgery dates. And I'm glad everyone is doing well. I kept reading all these "Oh, the PAIN" stories and was really worried before hand. But it's been pretty smooth for me, too. I can't sleep on my side yet, but I'm looking forward to it! I also had to pick up the Isopure 40, but they only had lemonade flavor. I added a few basil leaves, just to cut some of the sweetness. I should have just added it to tea?!?! Live and learn :)

Funny - I just ordered the lemonade flavor since I've only had the Ice tea flavor - maybe mixing the 2 is the secret :)

If it helps in any way...I found that walking, even just around my house, was an excellent help in getting rid of the gas pain! When I would get gas pressure in my chest, I would just get up and talk a walk around the whole house (about 5-7 minutes) which would help dissipate the gas.

Try Muscle Milk Pro Series protein shakes -- the Knockout Chocolate has 48 grams of protein per 17 oz carton. I find that this is the biggest help to reaching my protein goal each day! Plus, I get to enjoy sugar free jello gelatin without feeling guilty when I meet my protein each day. ;)
