I'm about halfway through the pre-surgery program. I have met everyone on my surgeons team, except my surgeon. I meet him on the 21st of this month. I'm excited about the future, but I'm still scared about the surgery. I'm having the RnY. I have type 2 diabetes, and at 39 years of age am on Lantus 80u 2x a day, Metformin, Invokana, Januvia, all at the max dose, Novolog on a sliding scale with meals. My doctor is concerned about the ability to manage my a1c as I get older being that I'm already on so many meds at max doses, and I'm still quite young. My surgery date is August 20th. Honestly, August 20th can't get here soon enough, I want to be lighter, healthier, and on less meds. I have a great support system with my friends and family, but they aren't the ones going through the surgery, and none of them have had it, so I wanted to reach out to others who have had it, or are preparing to have it. It's good to have people to talk to who are in a similar boat.
