Hi all

Its been 8 years but its been a tough ride. Immediately after surgery, when I woke up from anaesthesia, there was a large painful lump at the site. It had caused a hernia the size of a babys head. I had to wear a binder until I lost a certain amount of weight. After they fixed it, I developed a peptic ulcer. I was an emotional eater. Because I have PTSD and the fact that I can't eat like I use to I had a nervous breakdown.

Would you still consider yourself an emotional eater or has the surgery helped you through that? Did you get through your breakdown and are you fully recovered or still struggling? Have you found a better outlet for dealing with your emotions and how to turn what you struggle with into something positive for yourself? How has this lifestyle change and your journey been? Do you feel successful as you've traveled through it so far?
