Hi everyone

You may be dehydrated or low on electrolytes because sodium is an electrolyte that helps balance water in our cells. I was craving dill pickles or anything sort of salty/sour like that about the same time. I would actually chew them up and spit them out during my liquid/puree stage. However, I added in some zero calorie sports drinks to replenish my electrolytes and hydrate a bit more and the craving subsided. I still love dill pickles and stuff but it's common for those kinds of cravings to increase with dehydration.

Hmmm thank you. I have a big case of Gatorade zero so maybe I can’t drink on that tomorrow. I took in a lot of fluids today. But I’ve always loved pickles and olives. Those would always be my snacks every other day before I ever thought I’d having this surgery. I just really miss it

About 6 or 7 weeks out I was eating a couple green olives a day. I think it was the salt I was needing. The craving stopped after a week or so. I can’t eat pickles anymore, they’re too salty for me now, and I can’t stand sweet pickles.
