I am having gastric bypass surgery on June 28, 2022 for reasons other than weight loss. My stomach produces too much acid and is causing lots of ulcers and pre cancerous polyps. The fear of malnutrition and sticking to the diet scares me but I know I must. I am scared. Three different surgeons have told me this is the only way to save my life. I will be traveling 3 hours away from home to have the procedure. New doctor, new hospital, new environment. Local Hospital does not have the advanced capabilities. Just looking for someone that has been through this. Thank you for reading my post.

Wow, thank goodness you have health care workers that cared enough to find a solution for your condition that hopefully will give you a more normal lifestyle. Sorry you have to travel so far to have the surgery. Will you be able to do some of your follow-up visits closer to home? Omg, I cannot imagine having a 3 hour ride for post-surgery check-ups. I'm blessed to live about 16 blocks from my surgical hospital. Best of luck to you in your upcoming surgery. ❤❤
