Just decided I needed to talk to others like me. I am new at this...I had surgery Sept 27 Lap gastric bypass. I ived in Indiana and had wonderful support but I have recently moved to Oregon adn was told I could not join the support group as I didn't have my surgery here. It is all good...I do understand but I am struggling emotionally right now and am angry that I can't just stuff my face to make the pain of starting over go away. So Hi. I already feel better.

Hi Weslee, Wecome. Hang in there and keep looking for a support group, that doesn't sound right that you can't attend a support group. I live in Norther Cal. and I attend a support group in Medford Oregon, they are open to all Gastric bypass, band , and sleeve patients no matter where you had the surgerey so there must be something close to you that you can go to, just keep looking. I can't imagine why you would have to be a surgical pt of theirs...how crude. well you have a new family of people like you who will be just as understanding. there are teleconferencec twice a month withbariatric support centers international. ist mon eve and third thurs afternoon. It should show up as areminder in your e-mail on the day it occurs. thenext one is march 15 in the afternoon. If you wamt to call 712-432-9998 code #602024.the time depends on what time zone you are in. write me if you havr questions. I have been around awhile and got off track after 5 years and nowtrying to lose my last 40 lbs to meet my goal weight. Losing the weight is not hard in the beginning,keeping off is a lifetime challenge..Somewhere aroung 5 years we are not so sesitive to all those carbs and get into trouble....like me. bye for now patti
