Hi I am new here, I am waiting to have my Gastric By Pass scheduled for Sept. 16, 2020.
Anyone have any advice, or things I should do to help myself.

After looking at a few sites I am surprised, there is not a section for meal preps such as recipes for the first 12 wks. The ideas would be good, after your tired of the same stuff & a new way of preparing it.

Also is there anyone from Sevierville TN to connect with?

Hi. Welcome to the group. I had the gastric bypass in June. You'll do great. It's not as scary as it sounds lol For the first week, clear liquid, I recommend picking up a few bottles of ISOPURE zero carb clear protein drink. It has 40 grams of protein in 20 oz. which was the best I could find. You only need a few bottles since you can't drink that much anyway. Once the first week is over, it's a little easier to get your protein and to find recipes. We have a recipe section on this site that has a list of protein shakes, which are great for weeks 2 and 3. Good luck to you!

Thanks for the advise, yesterday I just ordered 2 lbs of ISOPURE clear unflavored. I have protein power, flavored water, broth. Still need chicken cream soups from the doctors office. They charge 10.00 for 7 ct in a box, I have not seen anything else more economical.
I'm thinking the 2 wk prep will be the worse, no restriction, afraid to feel to hungry.

I had Lapband put in 15 yrs ago, it doesn't last, my surgeon doesn't even do them anymore, they don't seem to work well for women after a few yrs. Put all my weight back on. Plus they say, they have a 10 yr life & they can get embedded into your stomach. So going to a By Pass Surgery.
