I had the sleeve also, and have to fight Fat Brain (our old way of bingeing and overeating) all the way. Fat Brain doesn't go away with the surgery, it's the biggest hurdle you have to face. You are not alone in this. I had some buyer's remorse about wishing I had the bypass, but it has its own complications.
At first, I could not feel if I was hungry; I couldn't feel my sleeve or if there was anything in it. It was about 6 weeks til I could start to differentiate food in my esophagus vs in the sleeve. The sleeve starts roughly in between the lower part of your breasts and goes down.
I was and sometimes still do watch the clock til I can eat again. That's my food compulsion. I do experience what I perceive to be hunger.
The hard fact is that many people, with either surgery, get careless down the line as we can eat more volume of food. They slide into old ways of eating and gain weight back. This is why you need to work with and conquer Fat Brain. It's a lifelong journey.
This is a new way of life. We won't die if we feel hunger sometimes. Make sure you are drinking all your required water, plus more. That helps me with hunger ( which I don't feel all day long, just sometimes). You also don't know if you would feel hunger with the bypass.
Keep on the boards. There's lots of dialog and advice.
And, welcome to the other side.
