surgery day was June 16th 2022 I'm doing everything the dr wants me to do. But last night I had a scare I felt like I had to pee and I couldn't pee.
I have been drinking all my clear liquids and hydration all day. I do have Diarrhea a lot I guess from not having any food in my stomach. I'm suffering with reflux and the dr did call me in medication. So I just sat down and sip sip water for about two hours then I did pee. Am I getting dehydrated?? what do you do not to get Dehydrated at the point?? I wake up with my mouth dry like Cotten I started full liquids today since its a week maybe that might help not sure. I feel like I went into this prepared but and I just worrying . Also im worrying about vitamin which to take what my stomach can handle. Just feeling bad today.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through these concerns right now. If your pee is still pale yellow, that's a good sign that you're staying hydrated. If it's a darker yellow color, that can be a sign of dehydration. You should consult your doctor if you're concerned. Some people go to the ER for an IV hydration to get them back to better levels. Hopefully, starting full liquids will help you feel better. Gatorade Zero has been a good drink for me to supplement water hydration. I've been taking Bariatric Fusion chewy (like Starburst) vitamins along with a chewy calcium supplement since one week post op (I'm 5 weeks po). I'm ready to switch to a different vitamin as these are too sweet for me, though they were great for the first month I was taking them. I'm going to try Bariatric Advantage chewable (more like a Flintstones vitamin chewable) and see how that goes. Eventually, I should be able to switch to something I can swallow in pill form. Hoping for the best for you and that today will be a better day.

Everything is wacky doodle in the first few weeks. Just do the best you can. Your body is freaking out, your hormones are crazy and your appetite is all over the place. I don’t know why you’re not urinating more often since you’re drinking a decent amount. I have trouble drinking and only get about 32 ounces each day. I hardly drank water before surgery, so my body is used to it. I just discovered Sweat Tea packets at Wal Mart (sugar free) which makes it easier for me to drink more. No lemon added, which is hard to find.

I agree with Diane. I am on meds to regulate my pee. (Trospium) I leak when I don’t pee enough. With that said I have serious issues if I get dehydrated and then pass kidney stones. No fun, especially without pain meds) I am 16 months out and have finally gotten to a point where I drink a min of 3 30 oz glasses of tea with lemon. I use the Aldi store brand which has sucralose, I make a gallon at a time I freeze half bottles so I can top it off and carry it with me outside and then I don’t have to run back and forth to the house when I am mowing. Best of luck getting to a solution for your problem.
