I am new here and scheduled for surgery 9/20/2022 just a few days away. I've been on the modified preop diet with two meals and two protein shakes. I feel okay, a little sluggish because of no caffein, a little scared, very excited to lose weight, hoping for the best outcome. I wonder if I will be able to sip 64 oz of water per day. I calculated one sip every fifteen minutes. I hope that I can stick to this schedule. I am easily distracted and may forget to take a sip. I am so used to taking big drinks. I don't have any problems staying hydrated now, but I can swallow a lot of water at once. The small sips will be something to get used to.Last appointment with my surgical nurse and dietician today! Started liquid diet, with surgery scheduled for September 21st. Hoping the week goes by quickly, first day of liquids wasn’t too bad
One thing I know that helped was putting a timer on my phone to remind me and help me take that sipI am new here and scheduled for surgery 9/20/2022 just a few days away. I’m the same with the water. Excited to hear how things go for you since our surgeries are only one day apart! A little jealous you can eat two meals, I’m strictly liquids, which 6 days in, is getting a little mundane. Make sure to post how you are doing, good luck!I am new here and scheduled for surgery 9/20/2022 just a few days away. I've been on the modified preop diet with two meals and two protein shakes. I got my date! October 25. I have to set up pre op appointment and get a covid test a few days before and of course the two week liquid diet before hand. I'm reading everyone's report about that. Feeling nervous. I realized I had a hard time with a 1200 calorie diet that the surgeon put me on because I was hungry - still have a large stomach, not a small one and wondering what the liquid diet will be like. I'm also anxious and excited about the surgery. It's a big change in my life and now that I have my date I'm a little scared that I'll blow it somehow. Anyone else recognize the feelings and thoughts?
