Liquid Temperature

Hi All,

I’m just a few weeks from having my gastric sleeve surgery. I just finish the required pre/post op diet class. I was curious to know what temperature you were able to tolerate after the sleeve? Currently, I love drinking iced cold water. But, I’ve read some can’t tolerate really cold or hot liquids.

This is one of those cases where it depends on the person. I preferred cold drinks, even ice chips but have read several posts that others have preferred warm beverages. You'll have to see for yourself.

Before my VSG I loved room temperature beverages and use to order water no ice. Now all beverages need to be ice cold or they are less enjoyable. My new stomach doesn't like very hot drinks at all.

Hi, It’s been a week for me(post surgery) and I can only tolerate ice cold water as well. I could drink and preferred room temperature. This is a new journey and I’m getting to know me all over.

I don't know about others, but I sipped water on ice like it was going out of style starting the day of surgery with on problems at all.

Before surgery, I would drink room-temp beverages no problem. But it was always a diet soda. Now that I've had to give up that addiction and stick to water, it must be ice cold.
