Menstrual Cycles, PCOS, Post OP single anastomosis duodenal switch

So I didn't see anything even after doing a search that addresses menstruation. To be fair I didn't search PCOS yet. I like to put information about what's going on with me after this surgery so that others have something to reference. A lot of this is personal but I feel like it is good for others to know especially since i had a lot of questions; about 10 years worth before i decided to actually have surgery. I had surgery 5 weeks ago and I have not had a cycle in over a year and have not had an cycle without the use of medication in I dont know how long. Today I woke up and had my first cycle without medication. I'm down 35 pounds and I have not had any PCOS symptoms since having surgery. I had a lot of ovarian pain prior to surgery but that is gone now. I do feel very weak and dizzy today. I am actually drinking protein shakes today because I can't bring myself to eat anything I'm just too weak today. However for those who also have PCOS and do not have a cycle, in my case I have started having a cycle. We shall see if this is going to be sporadic or a one time deal.

Before I got fixed I had heavy period that lasted for 2 weeks. But since my youngest was born I was fixed and fried my uterus. But prior to that I would go months not having my period and they told me it was because stress and being over weight. As you lose weight your period comes back. I have notice since i have lost like 50lbs pre-op that my period comes back but not as bad. I have cramping in my stomach and back at the same time. It hurts to walk during that time because the cramping becomes so much harder. If surgery really have took you off the meds for the pain don't you think that is a good thing. Now feeling weak can be a sign of your iron being low. Because with every period my iron dropped really low. That is why when I had got fixed they fried my uterus as well so I would not bleed as bad. So the next question is it a heavy flow or light flow. If heavy flow you need vitamin c and some iron. See if that will help you get started again and remember that they say water intake is the first thing you need to make sure you get and then the protein.
