Metallic taste?

I searched to see if there is a thread for this question, but found none. I had a lap RYGB on June 3rd and everything has been progressing nicely and my surgeon was very pleased during my first post-op visit. I am heading back to work on Monday but a new issue has arisen and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Everything suddenly tastes like metal. Water from the tap, water from a Brita filter system, my coffee tastes horrible, ice tea is gross, and I suddenly can't stand the thought of eating. I get nauseated at the thought of having to eat and nothing has a good flavor. Anyone had this happen to them?

Multivitamins can cause a metallic taste in your mouth but normally that is for a short period of time. Other reasons for it could be a sinus infection, or low vitamin B12 can cause a metallic taste. Oral hygiene can be a factor as well. I would check with your physician to rule out possible factors.
