Thank you. It's not the journey itself as currently having the finances & familial support. I went in and out of surgery alone! Well it was me & God! I saw the new life waiting for me but I had to get over fear and people's opinions. Now, I have to learn to eat what my body needs to be healthy not just eating based on emotions.Welcome to group!!! I am having surgery in two weeks and I can say that I too have had mixed emotions about having surgery, but I have to stop myself from the negative thought and remember why I started this journey to begun with, I want to take my life back there is a bigger picture I am after and I willing to fight for it. Its okay to have these emotions I believe we all go through them I just think reminding my self why I am here out weighs it in the end. I hope your not discouraged not to continue on with your journey and that you proceed forward in accomplishing what you started this journey to start with. I assure you that I and others are here to support you and what ever decision you decide
TY but the issue I am having is not getting a qualitative level of support from my surgeon or the nutritionist. I received an email that is supposed to be from my award winning surgeon with misspellings, typos & information that contradicts what the nutritionist says that I should be doing. And I voiced this to the office manager at my pre-op appointment, the friendly, responsive service is there until you commit to surgery; and once you have done that no one calls to touch base, no one creates a sense of caring or support. That's what has me second guessing my decision. Inconsistencies in material, information, poor customer service and professionalism. I'm actually going to meet with my surgeon to discuss this issue.Welcome to the group, LoveLee. You are 2 weeks out from having surgery already right? So your question is not about misgivings or fears about impending surgery, but you are second-guessing this life-changing surgery that you've already had.
It's not a comment I hear very often. Sometimes people have buyer's remorse about everything they do in their lives. But you're already done and there's nothing you can do to change it. Your job now is to follow your nutritionist's guidelines and set about the business of getting back to a state of good health.
If you have specific problems about paying or side effects, we might be able to help a little. But your first line of defense must always be your surgeon. It is very common 4 post op bariatric subjects to call the doctor's office several times to check about a sharp pain here or nausea there or constipation or diarrhea. I think even though we are told the possibilities, we don't really hear them until they start to happen and then they resonate loudly with us.
Call your doctor. Call as often as you need to. The surgery is very expensive and very life-changing. It's also a major surgery. So not only should you get your money's worth but you should make sure you are getting the best possible care. Call your doctor first if you're having a problem. If it seems like a little tiny problem or an annoyance, we love to listen to you.
